If you can rate a singular location in terms of how many times you say "Wow", "Oh my god", "Holy Crap", "That's insane" and "Freakin' hell that's robotic and on fire!!"... Then Maker Faire 2009 rates at least in the 200-300 range.
In 2006, I could only stay for the first day. This year I stayed and walked for the entirety of both days.. even staying at least an extra hour after it was meant to close. My daughter and I met ladyada, kipkay, adam savage and so many other amazing makers there. I also saw many burning man favorites from cyclecide to The Golden Mean (The Snail Car).
I couldn't even begin to describe the pure vastness (it took up the entire San Mateo fairgrounds) and amazingness of it all. I was on my feet for a calculated total of 18 hours, with schedule in hand I hoofed it to every corner of the place, and I think I still missed over 20% of it... ARgH!!
